WHAT IS CLEAN EATING??

This is a very common question I get and one with many possible answers….some informed and some not so much. I have studied this topic, inside and out, and came up with this very easy to read and understand checklist. The goal is to do the best you can, almost all the time! There is something I discuss with clients and it’s the 80/20 rule. 80% of the time you follow these kind of guidelines and 20% of the time you may indulge a little. Remember, this is a guideline to a lifestyle! It’s not meant to be a strict diet that nobody can stick with, 100% of the time.

Guideline to CLEAN EATING

  1. Reduce/eliminate processed foods that come from a box, can, bag, carton, etc.

  2. Reduce/eliminate refined/processed sugars ie: white sugar, corn syrup, Dextrose, Fructose, Galactose, Glucose, Lactose, Maltose, Sucrose.

  3. Drink at least 2 litres of filtered water every day.

  4. Only eat real/lean meats ie: chicken breast, fish, beef, pork without grocery store seasoning or breading (you add spices)

  5. No dairy ie: cow’s milk, cow/goat cheeses, cow/goat yogurt (choose coconut/almond)

  6. No gluten 

  7. Take your supplements

  8. Reduce/eliminate caffeine ie: coffee, tea, pop, chocolate

  9. Reduce/eliminate alcohol

  10. Reduce stress and Increase sleep
